What is Student-Initiated Learning (SIL) at Broadrick about?
SIL aims to empower students to take ownership of their well-being by exploring and engaging in a variety of activities that align with their interest. Structured training will be conducted with equipment and certified coaches. Students who opt for SIL are expected to commit to weekly sessions. -
What SIL programmes are offered?
We offer a wide variety of SILs for selected students, for which structured training will be conducted with equipment and certified coaches. These include: Badminton, Floorball, Football and Touch Rugby. Click here to find out more.

Can my child join a CCA and a SIL?
Yes, students may join both a CCA and a SIL, provided there are no clashes in the schedules
Use of Electronic Devices in School:

Are students allowed to bring mobile phones to school?
Students will lock up their mobile phones in personal lockers, and will not be permitted to use their mobile devices during school hours.

Does my child need to buy a laptop/mobile device as part of school programme when he/she joins the school?
The National Digital Literacy Programme (NDLP) was launched by MOE in March 2020 to make digital learning more inclusive by equipping students with the digital skills needed to be future-ready.As part of this initiative, the Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP) ensures that every secondary school student owns a school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD). This was rolled out progressively, with full implementation by end-2021.
At Broadrick Secondary, all students will use a Chromebook Convertible to support teaching and learning. The school will work with you to arrange the purchase of this device for your child/ward.
The chosen vendor was selected from MOE’s panel of approved suppliers based on the school’s device specifications. The PLD bundle includes:
